The 1550nm Erbium-doped fiber amplifier uses Erbium-doped fiber as the active medium. When the pump light is input to the EDFA, most of the Er3+ in the ground state can be pumped to the excited state, and the Er3+ in the excited state can be quickly transferred to the metastable state without radiation. The average residence time of Er3+ in the metastable state is 10ms. Therefore, it is easy to form a particle population reversal between the metastable state and the ground state. At this time, the signal photons pass through the erbium-doped fiber and generate a large number of photons exactly the same as themselves under the stimulated radiation effect, so that the signal photons increase rapidly, so that the optical signal can be continuously amplified at the output end.
YGF1501 ~ 21D C-band DWDM Erbium-doped fiber amplifier is a representative of optical amplifiers. Because the wavelength of EDFA is 1550nm, which conforms to the low-loss frequency band of optical fiber, its technology is relatively mature and has such a wide range of applications.
